Just before my third birthday, I spent two weeks decorating the goody bags, tablecloth, and party hats for my party, and I have been creating ever since. Utilizing a mix of photography, digital imaging, painting, and ‘happy mistakes’ I create fine art prints of the highest quality. I earned a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in 1996 from Syracuse University, and a MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from the California College of the Arts in 2003. Creating painterly photographs has been a lifelong commitment.

At six weeks old my parents took me on my second airplane ride—across the country to California. You see, I grew up in Massachusetts, and my mom believes that our trip set my fate to develop a lust for travel and the desire to live in San Francisco. So in 1997, after completing my degree at Syracuse, studying in London for a semester, and backpacking all over Europe, I followed my destiny and made the cross country move to San Francisco.

Digital imaging (including scanning film, enhancing, compositing, and manipulating image files in PhotoShop, and producing fine art prints) is how I paid the rent and afforded my travel habit. After 5 years of sitting in front of a Mac computer full time, I craved an adventure and the stimulation of academia. So, in 2001 I quit my job to travel throughout the South Pacific (Thailand, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands) for three months with my best friend. Upon returning to San Francisco I went to grad school, then began working for a SF based non-profit called PhotoWings.

My influences and inspirations include the glowing illumination of a city at night, peeled layers of paint on old buildings or furniture, and artists Shirin Neshat and Gustav Klimt. What really excites me is learning a new skill, yummy and healthy food, and deep tissue massage. Some of my favorite things include cultivating balance, strength and equanimity through yoga, taking

walks with my son and husband, and reading a book so intoxicating that I cannot bear to put it down. After 11 years in the Bay Area, we returned to Massachusetts in 2008 to continue the adventure.
